A note from our founder

I started Sugaroo! in January of 1999, when the idea of representing independent labels and artists for visual media licensing—TV, advertising, films, trailers, video games—was still in its early days. Since then, we’ve had the good fortune to license tens of thousands of songs (and counting) to just about every kind of production imaginable: from major TV ads to hundreds of shows, from cutting-edge trailers to major motion pictures to the most indie of indie films, video games, and everything in between.

Our recipe is simple. We start by finding great independent labels and artists, immerse ourselves in their music, build strong relationships with the music supervision community and across the creative industries, and share the right songs with the right people—always with the goal of securing the best possible placements.

At our core, we’re in the creative service business. We know how fast things move and how much pressure there is to get it right. Our mission is to make the music part of that process easier, faster, and lead to the best possible creative result.

We know how busy everyone is and how many options there are. Our hope is that whenever someone interacts with Sugaroo!, they walk away having had a positive, helpful, and productive experience—and found the perfect song for their project.
